Chin and Cheeks
The chin and cheeks, as well as the nose are the most important facial prominences. What we interpret as facial beauty depends directly on the relationship between these elements. A deficient chin or cheeks may take away a lot from a pretty face. That is why it is very important to make a balance between these elements.
The augmentation of the chin is made by an incision, 2-cm long in the crease underneath it. It is an ambulatory surgery, approximately 1-hour long; it’s performed under general or local anaesthesia plus deep sedation.
The augmentation of the cheeks is done in a similar way, by an incision in the interior of the mouth underneath the cheek itself.
Recovery from those and other facial surgeries is not painful but there may be a moderate swelling for 3 - 5 days. Nevertheless, the patient can be completely active the day after surgery. Dr. Gabriel Peralta uses Implantec trademark implants for these two kinds of surgery. |
