| Breast Reduction
Few women (and fewer men) are familiar with the conscious and unconscious feelings, fantasies and symbolic meanings associated with their breasts.
Nonetheless, it is a complex mixture of those that plays a major part in a woman's decision to have any operation that changes the appearance of her breasts.
Not every woman with large breasts feels affected by it, but those who do, are physically, socially and psychologically uncomfortable.
This operation is intended to reduce and lift the breast through removal of the skin, fat and breast tissue, improving their shape and maintaining breast-feeding capacity and nipple sensitivity.
This is an outpatient surgery, done under general anaesthesia; it takes about 4 hours. Recovery is usually painless and most of our patients can do usual activities within 2-3 days. We recommend 3 - 4 weeks of mild to moderate rest before beginning athletic activities.
